My friend never text/call me first?

Stop texting him and see how long it takes him to get a hold of you. I'm not very good at contacting friends. Its not that I don't want to, it's just that I'm comfortable with longer periods without talking than many are. He might be the same way. You can always just ask him and see what he says. Friends for a year should be plenty of time to ask a question like that.
