What kind of message does it send to children when religious groups have to take measures to protect them…?

Child molesters can be anywhere--church, school, babysitter, your own family. Parents have to be extra careful about who they let spend time with their children. In today's society, conscientious adults will make a point of not being alone with a child in order to avoid any suspicion. This isn't something unique to churches.
